About the Workshop
This session shares practical approaches for faculty, instructional designers, and academic staff for embedding open education principles into curriculum development, making learning more relevant, engaging, and reflective of students’ diverse identities. By leveraging open educational resources, collaborative course design, and innovative pedagogical approaches, educators can create learning experiences that foster both academic success and a strong sense of belonging. At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify practices and approaches for culturally-affirming course design.
- Create initiatives that encourage collaborative curriculum development.
- Operationalize plans for sustaining inclusive practices over time.
Participation at the live session is encouraged, but all registered attendees can also watch back live content asynchronously. Additionally, at the conclusion of the webinar, participants will gain access to a series of open learning modules built in D2L Brightspace.
